Vision Homes News – September 2023

Welcome to the 6th edition of Vision Homes News

In the last few editions of Vision Homes News I have been keeping you updated about progress on the restructure; I am pleased to announce that the new structure went live on the 1st September. With the aim of maintaining quality standards, whilst building a strong platform to expand our care services, we have split management of our services across Residential Services and Supported Living. This mirrors the structure of our partner organisation, New Outlook Housing Association.

Wendy Morse, our former Operations Manager, is now the Head of Residential Services and will oversee our Care Home at Toll Gate Road (TGR). Mel Townsend is the Head of Supported Living Services (SLS) and will be working more closely with Maraj Butterfield at our Ouzel Drive, Bradford Service. We also have a team of Service Managers in place to support the Head of Residential Services and Head of SLS. Thank you to our staff for their patience and hard work during this transitionary period.

A special thank you from me goes out to Holly Walters and her team at our 1a TGR Care Home, for all their hard work during a challenging period. Inclusion Gloucestershire conducted a Quality Report Assessment at 1a TG, which yielded several positive pieces of feedback about the high level of care and support being provided, and about the caring and positive nature of our staff. This is fantastic feedback; well done to Holly and her team at 1a TGR.

Finally, a polite reminder to staff that our Autumn Staff Recognition and Reward Event is now only a few weeks away! Thank you to everyone who has nominated one of their colleagues for an award. I look forward to seeing staff there.

The People we Support – Activities

MA from out TGR Care Home enjoyed a day out in Bewdley including some tasty fish and chips and a coffee, and then back at TGR did a spot of cooking to finish the day. Looks like he had a brilliant day out, judging by the smiles.

Staff Spotlight

Congratulations to Lucy Dawe (pictured on the left of the image) from our 1c TGR/SLS service who successfully applied for the role of Service Manager at 1c TGR. We wish her all the best with her new role.

Impressive feat of the month goes to Service Manager Rowena Marsh from our 1b TGR Care Home (right) who successfully hiked up all 5,895 meters (19,341 feet) of Mount Kilimanjaro! Rowena had this on her bucket list before Covid struck and has now ticked this off. Well done.
