Introduction

Vision Homes Association is a well-respected not-for-profit organisation supporting adults with multiple disabilities to lead full and active lives. We have vacancies for Relief (Bank) Support Workers to work at our care home in Ludlow supporting 5 adults with multiple disabilities.

About the Role

You will be providing physical support and emotional reassurance, both within the service and out in the local community on activities. Some of the people Vision Homes Association support require assistance with personal care or medication. You would be expected to be available to work on a regular basis, to meet the needs of the service. Our usual shift patterns are as follows:

· Early shifts – 7am – 3pm

· Late Shifts – 2pm – 10pm

What we need from you

The qualities we are looking for in successful applicants are:

Reliability / Patience / Caring / Responsible Attitude / Intuitive and Willingness to Learn

Experience is not necessary, as we provide full induction training and support. People join us from many different backgrounds; it’s more important to us that you are understanding of the needs of people with disabilities, are reliable, have a positive approach and are willing to learn.

You must be able to reliably commute to Ludlow in Shropshire, and have the right to work in the UK without needing sponsorship. Due to the location, candidates with a full UK driving license and access to their own vehicle are preferred.

Pay and Rewards

Vision Homes Association offers a full induction and ongoing training, including the opportunity to gain nationally accredited vocational qualifications. We also offer benefits which include:

  • £250 bonus for satisfactory completion of Probationary period
  • Opportunity for Permanent Part or full Time Contract
  • Free training
  • Opportunity to join Workplace pension scheme (*depending on hours worked)
  • Employee Assistance scheme to support your health and well-being

The successful applicant will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS disclosure (paid for by VHA) and achieve satisfactory references from previous employers.

VHA is an Equal Opportunities Employer.
