Strategic Partnership between Vision Homes and New Outlook
Welcome to the first edition of Vision Homes News, our monthly newsletter.
Since early 2022, we have been working more closely with an organisation called New Outlook Housing who are based in the same building. Both organisations have a long history of working together, and both organisations provide residential care and supported living for people with sight loss as well as supporting people with more complex care needs. We identified that closer partnership working would enable us to offer improved services for the people we support and our staff, and potentially offer improved value for money. We there- fore gained agreement in September 2022 from both organisation’s Boards to create a Strategic Partnership between the two organisations. The partnership between New Outlook and Vision Homes is now official, and the new formal Group structure came into force on the 1st of January 2023. The care portfolio has now expanded; included in the group structure are 6 residential care homes and over 70 different supported living packages. There are nearly 250 staff working across the group.
What will this mean?
Vision Homes and New Outlook will remain two separate entities with two separate boards. The creation of the Strategic Partnership will not have any immediate impact on services or staff as the initial work will focus on how the Governance structures, Executive Teams, and Support functions (HR, Housing and Finance) can work together to improve services and streamline work. Once this has been achieved, we will look at other opportunities for improving services and opportunities for staff.
Over the past six months, the CEOs of the two organisations have been working together on the Partnership proposal. Once the Partnership was agreed, Lydia Bailey, the CEO of New Outlook, announced that she would step down. The Boards then carried out an assessment process and appointed Alison Beachim as the new joint CEO.
Christmas Celebration & Staff Recognition 2022
This was a fantastic event held at Ludlow Racecourse on the 14th of December, which was attended by our staff, the people we support, and their families. Everyone seemed to have a good time; chatting, eating and dancing to some Christmas songs. Recognition Awards were given out for each of our services, plus long service awards for two of our staff that have been with us for over 30 years! Winners were presented with a certificate, a £40 Love2Shop voucher , and a customised card detailing why they were nominated by their colleagues. Awards were presented by the Chair of Vision Homes, Matthew Spencer.
Congratulations to our amazing winners!
Also, not pictured here, are Staff Recognition Award winners Joshua Peers (1a Toll Gate Road); Marie Watts (1c Toll Gate Road); Andrea Dawe (Nights); Sidanile Manyora (Ouzel Drive); Caroline Kenny (Head Office), Adam Faulkner (Long Service Award), and Robert Green (Madebrook).

The People we Support -Activities
The people we support (and our staff) got into the festive spirit before Christmas by taking part in a range of activities. These included Christmas crafts, a Christmas PJ day, getting out and about in the community, and dressing up as Santa Claus.
Building Refurbishments
Our registered care home at Toll Gate Road in Ludlow is getting a facelift! Bromford Housing, the landlord for the building, started refurbishment the week starting the 9th of January. This includes the bathrooms, shower rooms and kitchens in each of the three bungalows. Work is due to take three weeks per bungalow, and hopefully, disruption will be kept to a minimum. We look forward to seeing the finished results and sharing the improved facilities on our website and social media platforms.
